It’s Christmas Eve’s eve; which means by this time in the Christmas movies, the parents are getting ready to read an aptly themed story to their children and highlight the wonders of Christmas.
If like me, you want to start such a tradition in your household this year and have no clue of where to start, I’ve got you. I’ve compiled a list of 10 books (it is #BlogmasDay10 after all) you can read or listen to with your children on Christmas eve!
Check out our list below:
A Christmas Dream, and How It Came to Be True by Louisa May Alcott
‘Twas the Night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore
Christmas Every Day by Willam Dean Howells
The Christmas Story (The Birth of Jesus) by Patricia Pingry
The Elves and the Shoemaker by The Brothers Grimm
The Night After Christmas by Anonymous
The Last Dream of Old Oak by Hans Christian Andersen
The Christmas Ball by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman
The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams
The Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen
This catalogue of literature highlights the spirit of Christmas and will certainly get you and your children more excited for the season. As a brawta (added benefit) I’ll also share a video to the Jamaican-ised versions of two popular Christmas stories for you to listen to in the videos below:
The Christmas Story (Birth of Jesus)
The Night Before Christmas
So snuggle up with the family and get to reading! I’m sure it will be lots of fun for everyone.
